Session A | The collection & sieving of eroded and disturbed peat.
Carried out at 12 locations across the Flasks (A-L), 2kg bags of peat
from each location. Recovered some brick and tile from sieving, probably also flint since 6 listed by P. Rowe. A 1m long monolith through the peat (Berg 1991) at SE286 808; nearby a collection of flint recovered. |
Session B | Auger holes & test pits dug to map subsurface deposits, produced 2 flints; surveyed peat surface. |
